Organic Forms in Fine Materials

Goldsmith & Silversmith

Specializing in One of a Kind and Limited Series Creations

The elements of nature strongly influence the design of my own work and my sense of line, shape and color. The enchantment of all artistic expression, beauty, and especially visual arts, have informed and inspired my creative work my entire life. I have enjoyed being a metalsmith and jeweler for over forty years. I love using an eclectic mix of traditional and new techniques to create beautiful and uncommon jewelry that transcends the whims of fashion.

My art is another language with which to communicate my feelings and share a piece of my soul, and my greatest wish as an artist is to create unique pieces that truly inspire and enhance the lives of others. We are all meant to thrive on creativity and beauty. May wearing my jewelry and collecting my art make your now a joyful moment, every time you gaze at the splendid colors of stones or fused glass, every time you feel the presence of the texture and contour of a piece.

My jewelry can be described as organic designs with fine materials featuring high-carat colored gold, silver and unique gemstones. I love color, and so beyond working in 18k yellow and 22k yellow gold, I also mix my own colored gold alloys, producing 18k greens and rose. My inner alchemist is ever exploring materials and designs.

I make my jewelry by hand using the ancient techniques of hammering and soldering. Also, one of my special passions is carving cuttlefish bone to make mold and then cast metal. Cuttlefish bone creates a beautiful, natural wavy texture. Each piece is an exploration for me, and I love to design and create with others. I invite you to join me and allow me to create unique jewelry for your life’s journey and special occasion.

I currently belong to the Creative Metal Arts Guild of Portland and the Society for North American Goldsmiths. My work is shown at the RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon as well as other art shows in the region.
